Abstract Art

By admin | Saturday, February 5th, 2011 | Abstract Art

Creating abstract art for the artist can be an expressive means to channel creative energy and emotion. The action of painting is therapy and very meditative for many abstract artists who enjoy the freedom the abstract painting process brings.

Abstract painting might look easy because it is a splash of paint here and there, but this is far from the truth. Abstract work is far and away the most difficult and challenging of many painting projects. Abstract art, if done very well, must be arranged and juxtaposed so as to produce an appropriate mind effect. The viewer may assume that if they do not understand a work of art, there must be something wrong with it. However, this is not the case.

Abstract can be more difficult than landscape or still life because there is nothing to copy from, and nothing like it has been painted prior to the moment that the artist picks up the paints and brushes.

An abstract piece of art is an arrangement of shapes and colors. Abstract art communicates by the use of color, composition, shape and line,. The abstract artist must make good use of the above qualities in abstract art to be able to communicate with the viewer.
